A Generation of Hope and Change

Getting young people outside at an early age can be a powerful driving force that shapes their desire to become environmental leaders later in life.

Please join Youth Outside on October 23rd for a luncheon showcasing young leaders in the outdoor and environmental fields. They will share their personal stories about how connecting with nature early on shaped their career choices.

The panel will be moderated by environmental justice advocate mark! Lopez, Executive Director of East Yard Communities for Environmental Justice and 2017 North American recipient of the Goldman Environmental Prize. mark! has earned international acclaim for his work to persuade the state of California to provide comprehensive lead testing and cleanup of East Los Angeles homes contaminated by a battery smelter that had polluted the community for over three decades.

Young leaders who are joining the panel to tell their stories include:

Irwin Perez

2017 Outdoor Educators Institute Alum
